Who Are We?
Muskaan is a non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation that believes that a new approach and thinking is required against the lack of sanitation, public hygiene and awareness for keeping our surroundings clean and green. This needs a new kind of effort, a fresh initiative, in fact a movement against this malaise that is casting a dark shadow on our nation.
What Do We Do?
It is thus that Muskaan has decided to take this problem head on and tackle these issues. It is our stated aim to help create awareness and propagate a new national consciousness – of keeping India clean, keeping it green and making it a liveable place for all – especially the poorer and marginalised communities of our nation.
Waste does not discriminate between people, caste and colour. It is a plague that spares no one. It spreads disease and malaise. It stunts development. It pollutes the sources of our fresh water. It passes into the food chain and contaminates all fresh produce that we eat. It extracts a huge cost – in the form of ill health and lost productivity – and is impossible to measure in terms of the exact magnitude of the negative impact. Our aim is to educate, train and make our people – especially the younger generation more aware of the need for keeping our country clean and beautiful.
Muskaan is new effort, one that aims to help society through social service. We are committed to the betterment of society by inculcating civic sense among our people. The idea is to promote a Clean and Green India, through awareness campaigns for ensuring that the bane of littering and garbage is eradicated from our society. We are non-government and not-for-profit organization that believes that a new approach and thinking is required against the lack of sanitation, public hygiene and awareness. This needs a new effort, a fresh initiative, in fact a movement to end this malaise that is casting a dark shadow on our nation.
